Florida Catholic Bishops are opposing the amendment. Here's a Catholic who thinks they are demonstrating only their own lack of integrity as they succumb to political and legal pressures from their own leftist staff. The Florida bishops think the result will be either defeat at the ballot or else usurpation by the courts leading to a loss of the small gains that have been made in some areas (parental notification, etc, etc). If I actually thought the bishops had a "strategy" as they put it, I might not be so disheartened. An acceptable stance, given their concerns, would have been to make
no comment. But instead, we now have Florida Catholic bishops on record as opposing a Florida constitutional measure stating human life begins at conception.
This is a day of disgrace for Florida Catholics. May God provide us soon with bishops
that follow Him with all their hearts, all their souls, and all their strength.
