The Forerunner International
By Jay Rogers
Published September 1, 1993
The goal of The Forerunner is to establish a network of media resources around the world that may enable Christian nationals in foreign countries to publish reformation newspapers similar in vision to The Forerunner using cutting-edge computer technologies. Here are the most recent developments:
Predvestnik: The Voice of a New Generation
KIEV, Ukraine (FR) – Roman Medvid, staff editor, informs us that the seventh issue of Predvestnik has been produced. There are now ten major distribution centers throughout cites in Ukraine, the Russian and Kazhakstan. Recent issues of Predvestnik have been carried into Moldava and the Baltic States.
The two most recent issues contained a series of articles on church history. Roman Medvid compiled history series featuring figures and events such as the Nicean Council, Saint Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation, Jonathan Edwards, Charles Finney and Dietrich Bonnhoeffer. Sergei Zavgorodny is writing a series concerning the great changes in the political structure of the former USSR and how this will affect Christians and young churches. Predvestnik is being distributed freely in the public schools of Kiev and other cities as well as on university campuses and through churches.
Predvestnik’s newest staff member Segei Zavgorodny has a vision for reaching Muslims with a special edition of Predvestnik. There are millions of Russian speaking Muslims throughout the former USSR. Some of the largest Muslim groups are the Tatars and the Turkish peoples throughout central Asia. Sergei believes that now is the time to reach Muslims with a newspaper specifically geared to these people groups.
Our goals for 1993 and 1994 are to publish Predvestnik on a bimonthly schedule; increase circulation; and continue to expand distribution throughout the former Soviet Union. We plan to use Kiev as a base to print the Muslim newspaper and a Reformation newspaper to reach mainland China!
The Forerunner: Preparing The New South African
BRAAMFONTEIN, South Africa (FR) – Dawson Lewis, missionary to South Africa, has had a burning vision to establish the South African Forerunner for several years. Dawson’s church is involved in ministry on the university campuses and in establishing a Christian school in South Africa. Three other churches, part of His People Christian Ministries, are networked with them in the vision to reach the university campuses and to establish a publication. Nicky Becker, managing editor of The Forerunner: Preparing the New South African, began working as a part of this ministry last year and has produced three issues.
Says Nicky: “The Forerunner was birthed in October last year out of Maranatha Christian Church of South Africa which has now merged with His People Ministries. The magazine has been modeled on The Forerunner USA newspaper. It is, however, in its very beginning stages. I need to establish exactly what equipment we need. Also, we need advice in raising finances, personnel rrequirements, marketing methods, etc. We have a mailing list which includes business people, pastors, people involved in the political arena, etc. The magazines are distributed on three campuses in Johannesburg and one in Cape Town. We would very much like to link up with you for the purpose of training.”
The Mandate: Liberating China
DURHAM, North Carolina (FR) – The 1990s promise to be a significant time of change for China. That’s why The Mandate is being produced: to give the tens of thousands of Chinese students here in the United States a blueprint for the reformation of their culture and society.
In early 1994, The Mandate will emerge with an all Chinese language version. Our goal is to sow the seed of Christian ideas on the university campuses where there are many Chinese international students. Many of these young people have come to America seeking answers to the problems that their country faces. Unfortunately, the American university classroom is a very hostile place for the Christian message – we intend to counter that with a relevant presentation of Christian ideas so that the entire Chinese international student community studying in the United States can be prepared for revival!
Our desire is to greatly increase campus distribution through interested individuals and churches. We must reach the thousands of Chinese students here in the U.S. with the gospel of Jesus Christ. If we enter this battle of ideas with the message of the gospel, thousands of Chinese internationals will respond to the call of God on their lives. Many of them will return to their nation to assume places of power and effect lasting change according to biblical principles.
This first edition appeared this fall in English in order to raise the financial support that is needed to accomplish this great task that lies before us. The Chinese publication will be ready in early 1994 and we want to have the finances available to make a large impact on the Chinese international population with the very first issue. At the moment, we are not only putting together the Chinese version, but also looking into ways that The Mandate can be distributed in China.
Reaching The Nations With The Printed Word
The world of the 1990s is changing at a rapid pace. The gospel of Jesus Christ is destined to penetrate every stronghold of darkness from the communist bloc to the Islamic nations. The goal of The Forerunner International is to reach young people who will be used of God in liberating the nations.
We will do this by training the young editors of the emerging network of Forerunner newspapers. We will help them to publish the message of Revival and Reformation so that they can be used of God to effectively transform their nation. Our goal is to establish a network of media resources, information sharing and news gathering services so that young people the world over can catch a vision of the progress of the gospel worldwide.
At this time we are in great need of finances to move forward. Contributions will be used for equipping and training staff of established publications, personal support for our staff and establishing new publications. Your contributions are tax-deductible and most appreciated.
Your financial contributions will help to put hundreds of thousands of copies of The Forerunner into the hands of the world’s future leaders. With your help we can liberate the nations!

The Four Keys to the Millennium (Book)
Foundations in Biblical Eschatology
By Jay Rogers, Larry Waugh, Rodney Stortz, Joseph Meiring. High quality paperback, 167 pages.
All Christians believe that their great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will one day return. Although we cannot know the exact time of His return, what exactly did Jesus mean when he spoke of the signs of His coming (Mat. 24)? How are we to interpret the prophecies in Isaiah regarding the time when “the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea” (Isa. 11:19)? Should we expect a time of great tribulation and apostasy or revival and reformation before the Lord returns? Is the devil bound now, and are the saints reigning with Christ? Did you know that there are four hermeneutical approaches to the book of Daniel and Revelation?
These and many more questions are dealt with by four authors as they present the four views on the millennium. Each view is then critiqued by the other three authors.

Go Stand Speak (DVD)
With “preaching to the lost” being such a basic foundation of Christianity, why do many in the church seem to be apathetic on this issue of preaching in highways and byways of towns and cities?
Is it biblical to stand in the public places of the world and proclaim the gospel, regardless if people want to hear it or not?
Does the Bible really call church pastors, leaders and evangelists to proclaim the gospel in the public square as part of obedience to the Great Commission, or is public preaching something that is outdated and not applicable for our day and age?
These any many other questions are answered in this documentary.

Massacre of Innocence (DVD)
Exposing The Occult Roots of Abortion
This presentation looks at the spiritual roots of abortion and exposes the myths surrounding child killing. Little known historical facts about abortion and how they relate to modern feminism are presented logically and accurately. Has been effective in converting many to a pro-life position.
Massacre of Innocence goes where no pro-life presentation has gone before in “tearing the lid off abortion” to reveal the spiritual realities we must battle if we will bring an end to this crime. The presentation is absorbing, fast-paced, informative and incredibly devastating to any attempt to justify abortion.
“… an extraordinary statement … a powerfully articulate presentation about what abortion really means, and why a great and moral nation like the United States must not allow the slaughter to continue.”
— Congressman Robert K. Dornan
