Dear Mr. Sapp:

The U.S. Marshals Service is responding to your request for information regarding Marshals Service personnel on the "payroll" of the Aware Women's Center for Choice, Inc. Melbourne, Florida.

Please be advised that the U.S. Marshals Service physical protection provided to the Aware Women's Center for Choice, Inc., Melbourne, Florida in 1994 was performed at government expense under the authority of the Attorney General. There were never any Marshals Service employees on the "payroll" of the Aware Women's Center for Choice, !nc, There are no documents reflecting any payments by the Aware Women's Center for Choice, Inc. the services by the Marshals Service or individual Marshals Service personnel. Nor are there any documents reflecting employment of Marshals Service personnel by the Aware Women's Center for Choice, Inc.

The actual security protection detail on this facility produced voluminous documents as stated in our letter to you of April 1, 1998. However, these documents relate entirely to the actual security of this abortion clinic, and portions are not disclosable for security reasons. Many of the documents are simply administrative reports. Please clarify whether you desire your request to encompass these documents as well inasmuch as they do not involve any payments for services by Aware Women's Center for Choice, Inc. Upon receipt of your response, we will correspond with you again regarding any further processing.
